Retail Council promotes Laura Barry

ALBANY, NY (04/19/2010)(readMedia)-- The Retail Council of New York State has promoted Laura Barry to membership development coordinator.

In this post, Ms. Barry will assist the Council's sales department in the solicitation of new members. She will also work with current members to ensure they maximize use of free and reduced cost services provided by the Retail Council. Ms. Barry will continue to play a role in other critical administrative functions.

Ms. Barry started at the Council in 1990 as administrative assistant. She went on to become an executive legislative assistant in 2005, and is a well-known voice to members who call the Council's office seeking information or to speak with government relations staff.

"Laura is assuming an even more active and visible role in the Retail Council's future growth where I'm confident she will excel," said Retail Council President and Chief Executive Officer Jim Sherin. "Her cheerful nature and desire to always serve members to the best of her ability make this promotion well-deserved."

Ms. Barry currently resides in Ravena, N.Y., with her husband and three children.
