Retired Jacksonville Soldier receives Legion of Merit award

SPRINGFIELD, IL (01/27/2015)(readMedia)-- SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Col. (ret.) Randy Scott of Jacksonville, Illinois, received the Legion of Merit award during a ceremony Jan. 27 at Camp Lincoln in Springfield, Illinois.

Scott retired May 2014 after 32 years of service and received the award for his meritorious service as the director of facilities for Joint Force Headquarters in Springfield, Illinois.

"It feels good to have one last 'hoorah,'" said Scott.

Scott expressed his appreciation of his fellow Soldiers during the award ceremony.

"Colonel Scott, we thank you for everything you and your family have done," said Daniel Krumrei, the Adjutant General for the Illinois National Guard.
