Richard Tyaba of Silver Spring Awarded Don Stabile Scholars Endowed Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (11/19/2013)(readMedia)--  Richard Tyaba, a Silver Spring, Md., native and a sophomore at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Don Stabile Scholars Endowed Scholarship. Established in 2013 by Donald R. Stabile, this scholarship benefits incoming first-year or transfer students who have academic merit.

At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Tyaba is studying computer science and economics. Outside the classroom, Tyaba is involved in the Student Investment Group, the Dean Advisory Council and Economics Club. Tyaba is also manager of the men's varsity basketball team.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
