HAMILTON, NY (10/24/2013)(readMedia)-- Gabriel Zetter and Robert Carroll, Colgate juniors, have teamed up to help college students buy and sell goods and services on their college campuses.

Zetter and Carroll created GateSwap, a safe, social, and sustainable way to buy and sell goods and services, and great way to reach out and connect to the community as a whole. The students created the service with the help of Colgate University's Thought Into Action Entrepreneurship Institute.

Instead of throwing out furniture at the end of the semester or bringing home textbooks and posters to gather dust, GateSwap users can sell what they don't need and buy what they do from members of their own campus community. Zetter and Carroll first tested the service at Colgate, and have since expanded to two more colleges.

Thought into Action (TIA) is a Colgate University incubator for student ventures. Every year a select group of pioneering students prove what it really means to be an entrepreneur by taking an idea and making it 'go live'. In TIA, passionate students take their own ideas and move from theory to practice, while guided by invaluable mentorship of entrepreneurial alumni and parents.

Colgate University is a highly selective residential liberal arts institution distinguished by the dedication of its faculty and its commitment to global engagement, student-faculty research, off-campus study, sustainable practices, and utilizing technology to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
