Riverside's Molly McCloskey named a Second Team all-Midwest Conference Performer
McCloskey led Lake Forest with 401 kills on the season.
LAKE FOREST, IL (11/17/2011)(readMedia)-- Molly McCloskey (Riverside, Ill./Riverside-Brookfield), a junior outside hitter on the Lake Forest volleyball team, was named a second team all-Midwest Conference Performer on Wednesday.
McCloskey was second in the MWC to teammate Cori Cooper with 3.86 kills per set and she was also 10th in the league in hitting percentage. Her team-high 401 kills on the year are the fifth-highest total in program history and she also ranked second on the squad with 322 digs and fourth with 28 blocks and 21 aces.
Lake Forest finished with a 15-14 overall record and a 6-3 mark and third-place finish in league play. The Foresters defeated Monmouth College in the semifinals of the MWC Tournament before falling to league champion and host St. Norbert College in the final. It was the program's highest victory total in six years and first appearance in the tournament final since 2004.
