Rocky Point Attorney Carole Burns Named Chair of State Bar's Senior Lawyers Section

ALBANY, NY (01/31/2014)(readMedia)-- Carole A. Burns of Rocky Point is the new chair of the 2,800-member Senior Lawyers Section of the New York State Bar Association.

Burns is a retired private practitioner. She currently volunteers with Nassau/Suffolk Law Services, working on consumer and medical debt cases for low-income clients.

A 15-year member of the State Bar Association, Burns most recently served as chair-elect of the section. She previously was a member of the Environmental and Municipal Law sections, as well as

the Committees on Lawyer Referral Service and Lawyers in Transition.

Burns received her undergraduate degree from Hunter College and earned her law degree from Fordham University School of Law. She also has an LL.M. from New York University

School of Law.

The 75,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
