ONEONTA, NY (05/25/2012)(readMedia)-- Ronald and Eileen Tulloch of Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y., have been selected to receive the SUNY Oneonta Alumni Association's 2012 Excellence in Alumni Service Award in recognition of their support for SUNY Oneonta as active and engaged alumni. They will receive the award in a ceremony Saturday, June 2, during the college's annual Reunion Weekend.
Ron served on the College at Oneonta Foundation Board of Directors, and he and Eileen were instrumental in the development of the Class of 1962 scholarship, which was created in 2003 from the gifts of members of the Class of 1962. Given to students in good academic standing who have financial need, this award can be renewed annually.
In addition to their philanthropic leadership, the Tullochs have demonstrated a high level of alumni engagement over the past five decades, frequently returning to SUNY Oneonta to participate in Reunion and Homecoming weekend events, and hosting an alumni event in their region. Fifty years after graduating from Oneonta, they still have a network of friends developed through their involvement in undergraduate activities, including Greek organizations and the Mask and Hammer theatre club.
