Roodhouse Soldier receives award from Polish President

MARSEILLES, IL (05/21/2012)(readMedia)-- Lt. Col. Drew Dukett of Roodhouse, commander of the 108th Sustainment Brigade in Chicago, was awarded Poland's Officer Cross of the Order of Merit by Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski during an award ceremony May 20 at the Marseilles Training Center in Marseilles.
The award ceremony honored Illinois Army National Soldiers for their service and support to Polish Land Forces. Dukett served with the Bilateral Embedded Staff Team A5, co-deploying to Afghanistan with Polish Soldiers part of Task Force White Eagle in 2010.
Dukett enlisted to the active duty Army in 1980, later joining the Illinois Army National Guard in 1985 and commissioning as a second lieutenant in 1990 through Officer Candidate School at Camp Lincoln. Dukett has served overseas in Germany and Korea and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.
