SUNY Canton Seeks Distinguished Citizen Nominations

CANTON, NY (11/09/2015)(readMedia)-- SUNY Canton is seeking nominations for the annual College Council Distinguished Citizen Award.

Since 1976 the College has given this prestigious award in recognition of exceptional and distinguished service to SUNY Canton, to the community, to the state, or to the nation.

Members of the community are invited to submit nominations for the award. Nomination packets must include: a nomination letter; the name and position of the nominee; a description of the distinguished services, recognitions, facts or characteristics that is pertinent or informative; a brief biography of the nominee; and at least three supporting letters from non-family members. Additional supporting documentation can also be included.

Nominations, which are due on or before Feb. 1, 2016, should be addressed to SUNY Canton President Dr. Zvi Szafran or SUNY Canton College Council Chairman Mr. Ronald M. O'Neill, Office of the President, 34 Cornell Drive, Canton, NY, 13617. Nominations can also be sent by email to youngm@canton.edu.

The award will be presented at the Faculty and Community Awards Dinner in May 2016, and the recipient's name will be prominently displayed on a plaque in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.

Last year's recipient of the prestigious award was Banford Elementary School Counselor Kelley F. Glasgow.
