Members of SUNY Canton's Habitat for Humanity student club spent their spring break in Florida helping to build homes for families in need.

CANTON, NY (03/30/2015)(readMedia)-- Fourteen SUNY Canton students used their spring break to help build homes for Florida families who do not have access to affordable housing.

Members of the Habitat for Humanity student club worked on two homes in Delray Beach and Boynton Beach, Fla., from March 6-13. Students worked alongside the local Habitat for Humanity chapter and the future homeowners to paint exterior siding and install drywall.

The club raised money for the trip by holding fundraisers throughout the year. SUNY Canton alumni Anthony Javarone and Richard and Marilyn Rausch also made contributions to the club.

In addition, the following area businesses supported the trip by donating funds or raffle items:

• Adirondack Fragrance and Flavor Farm, Parishville

• Chipotle Mexican Grill, Watertown

• Glow Spa, Canton

• The Knights of Columbus, Ogdensburg

• Nature's Storehouse, Canton

• Thai Cuisine, Potsdam

• WTC Surveyors, Canton
