SUNY Delhi Culinary Team Appears on Fox

DELHI, NY (03/23/2010)(readMedia)-- Delhi's hot food team recently made an appearance on the cable morning show Fox & Friends March 17 on the Fox News Channel.

The team was invited to the show by the Quarter Master School at Fort Lee, VA, the winner of the 35th U.S. Army Culinary Arts Competition. Associate Professor Tom Recinella established a relationship with the Army culinary team members by helping them prepare for competition for the past two years.

"I was thrilled when Master Sergeant Dave Turcotte and Chief Warrant Officer 4 Russell Campbell asked us to participate with the Army for Fox and Friends," says Chef Recinella. "It is a privilege to work along side the military chefs, and it was an honor for us to be there with them. Our students help their cooks with technical skills and culinary knowledge and in the process their soldiers teach our students valuable life and leadership lessons. We look forward to many future opportunities with the Army as our relationship continues grows."

Delhi's hot food team members include: Sarah Thurgood, Team Captain, a fourth-year student from Bovina Center; Kenny Liranzo, a third-year student from New York City; Joe Michaud, a fourth-year student from Gansevoort; Julie Hernandez, a third-year student from Bainbridge; and Mike Specioso, a third-year student from Binghamton.
