DELHI, NY (12/08/2010)(readMedia)-- SUNY Delhi has introduced a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Information Systems Auditing this fall.
"This is a unique program that will make students eminently employable," said SUNY Delhi Provost John S. Nader. "The combination of accounting and data management competencies helps mark the future of Delhi's business programs."
With increasing financial regulations, there is a growing need for Certified Information Systems Auditors who can fill the role of an accountant but understand the need for internal control and can safeguard a company's assets through the use of technology. Delhi's new B.B.A. combines specialized accounting and computer skills so graduates can successfully fill this ever-growing need in today's financial world. It includes the seven major content areas that students need to pursue the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exam.
Building on Delhi's strengths in accounting and information technology, this four-year degree prepares graduates for employment in public corporations to assist with new Sarbanes-Oxley internal control requirements. It also prepares them to serve as project managers who can implement technical accounting systems. Graduates may transfer, and upon completion of a fifth year, may qualifiy to sit for the CPA exam.
The Information Systems Auditing curriculum was developed by accounting and information technology faculty at SUNY Delhi with strong support from the college's business advisory council, many of whom are professionals in the field.
