DELHI, NY (08/20/2010)(readMedia)-- SUNY Delhi is ranked among the Top 40 Regional Colleges in the 2011 edition of "Best Colleges" by U.S. News Media Group. The exclusive rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, are available today at www.usnews.com/colleges, and will also be published in the September issue of U.S. News & World Report, on newsstands starting August 31.
"We are very proud to be recognized by U.S. News for the fourth consecutive year," said President Candace S. Vancko. "It sends a very positive message to prospective students and their families that SUNY Delhi is providing an outstanding educational experience."
SUNY Delhi expects record enrollment for the third consecutive year when classes begin August 30. The enrollment surge is the direct result of several strategic initiatives. In addition to significantly expanding its baccalaureate programs on campus, Delhi delivers baccalaureate degrees at Schenectady County Community College, Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, and Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. An online RN to BSN program, the first of its type in New York State, has also seen significant growth from 20 students to more than 300 in less than two years.
Delhi offers over 60 academic programs, leading to one-year certificates, two-year associate degrees, and four-year baccalaureate degrees. Its specialized baccalaureate programs areas include Hospitality Management, Professional Golf Management, Golf Course Management, Veterinary Technology Management, Information Technology, Architectural Design and Building, Construction Management, and Business and Technology Management.
Over the past two decades, the U.S. News college rankings, which group schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, has grown to be the most comprehensive research tool for students and parents considering higher education opportunities.
