SUNY Delhi Ranks among 2012 Best Colleges by U.S. News

DELHI, NY (09/14/2011)(readMedia)-- SUNY Delhi is ranked among the Top Regional Colleges in the 2012 edition of "Best Colleges" for the fifth consecutive year by U.S. News Media Group. The exclusive rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, are available today at www.usnews.com/colleges, and will also be published in the September issue of U.S. News & World Report, on newsstands starting September 20.

This year SUNY Delhi was also recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a Top 10 "College that Leads to Graduate School," making the college one of the top colleges that sends the highest percentage of students to graduate school within a year of graduation.

"We are proud to be again recognized as a college that provides students with an outstanding educational experience," said President Candace S. Vancko. "Rankings like these send a strong message that our faculty and staff do an exceptional job of inspiring students to succeed."

SUNY Delhi's rising stature is also the direct result of several successful strategic initiatives. In addition to significantly expanding its baccalaureate offerings on campus, Delhi delivers baccalaureate degrees at Schenectady County Community College, Tompkins Cortland Community College in Dryden, Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, and Monroe Community College in Rochester. This fall, Delhi is also offering part of its highly-acclaimed culinary program at Suffolk County Community College on Long Island. And the college's biggest success story is its online RN to BSN program, the first of its type in New York State, growing from 20 students to more than 450 in fewer than three years.

Delhi offers over 60 academic programs, leading to one-year certificates, two-year associate degrees, and four-year baccalaureate degrees. Its specialized baccalaureate program areas include Hospitality Management, Business and Professional Golf Management, Golf Course Management, Veterinary Technology Management, Information Technology Management, Architectural Design and Building, Construction Management, Business and Technology Management and Criminal Justice.

Over the past two decades, the U.S. News college rankings, which group schools based on categories created by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching, have grown to be the most comprehensive research tool for students and parents considering higher education opportunities.
