SUNY New Paltz student Allyson Yee secures fall 2024 internship with Maya Gold Foundation

New Paltz student Allyson Yee '25 (Communication Studies-Relational) has begun a fall internship with a local non-profit serving youth, The Maya Gold Foundation.

Yee is working on a variety of projects, including assisting in fundraising, attending meetings with local teens, planning events and programs, and marketing.

The Foundation, whose mission is "to empower youth to access their inner wisdom and realize their dreams," is delighted to have Yee.

"I have come to appreciate Ally in the few weeks she has been with us," said Board President Mathew Swerdloff. "She is a great asset and a capable and caring person."

Yee is a senior at SUNY New Paltz pursuing a bachelor's degree in communication studies with a concentration in relational communication. Through the course of her study, she has taken courses such as "Social Impact of Mass Media," has worked with children and has volunteered with seniors, which helped put her communication studies skills into action.
