SUNY Plattsburgh Accepts Applications for Summer Session Courses

PLATTSBURGH, NY (04/30/2009)(readMedia)-- Individuals wanting to explore special interests can find a variety of course offerings at SUNY Plattsburgh this summer. So, too, can individuals needing to fulfill requisites in fields like history, education, English, chemistry and the like. Available courses also cover topics ranging from sea kayaking to Canadian cinema, from ceramics to jazz history, from writing to calculus and more.

The college offers more than 200 guaranteed courses during its summer session. Students who sign up for a course are guaranteed to get that course. In addition, there are 50 online courses, allowing individuals to work or pursue other summer interests while earning college credits.

The courses are split into three convenient summer sessions:

  • Session A runs from May 26 to June 5. This two-week intensive session permits students to complete up to three credit hours by the beginning of June.
  • Session B runs from June 8 to July 10, and allows students to finish one or more classes before mid-summer. The majority of the college's summer course offerings take place in Session B.
  • The third session, Session C, runs from July 13 to August 14 and will accommodate students who prefer mid-summer study.
