SUNY Plattsburgh Moves Up in Kiplinger's 'Best Value' Rankings
PLATTSBURGH, NY (03/16/2009)(readMedia)-- For the second year in a row, the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh has been ranked by Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine for being among the best values in public higher education nationwide.
For in-state students, SUNY Plattsburgh ranked 79th out of 100 institutions that made the cut. For out-of-state students, the college ranked 62nd out of 100. Last year, Plattsburgh State ranked 97th and 79th for in-state and out-of-state students, respectively.
"In Kiplinger's exclusive rankings, we give you the top 100 public schools that, in our judgment, combine outstanding value with a first-class education," wrote Senior Associate Editor Jane Bennett Clark in her article on article on the winners.
The criteria used to rank the campuses are academic quality, cost, and financial aid. The top 100 campuses were selected from a pool of more than 500 public four-year colleges and universities.
