SUNY Potsdam Student Recognized with Alexander G. Major Award
The Alexander G. Major Award was established in memory of Dr. Major, who served on the faculty of SUNY Potsdam from 1947 to 1973. He was a professor in the Science Department and taught biochemistry. Dr. Major was instrumental in developing the first programs in chemistry and biochemistry. The Major award is given to a student who has demonstrated significant competence in the field of chemistry, biology or biochemistry.
