SUNY Potsdam to Welcome Nearly 600 Alumni for Reunion Weekend

SUNY Potsdam Alumni Raise Close to $2 Million for 2017 Reunion Class Gifts

POTSDAM, NY (07/11/2017) (readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam will welcome nearly 600 alumni and friends back to campus during Reunion Weekend 2017, from Thursday, July 13 to Sunday, July 16.

With a number of special celebrations and commemorations, alumni have also chosen to give back to their alma mater as they head back for reunion. SUNY Potsdam alumni and friends have given a total of $1,994,288 in honor of 2017 class reunions, as of July 11.

Four classes have exceeded their class giving goals this year, including:

  • The Class of 2007, with $18,000,
  • The Class of 1992, with $17,644,
  • The Class of 1987, with $21,694, and
  • The Class of 1967, with $1,262,034.

The 50-Year Club, which is made up of all classes from 1966 and earlier, has $615,555 in class gifts this past year, to benefit students and programs at SUNY Potsdam. This giving includes both outright gifts and the establishment of funds through planned or estate giving.

Many alumni honor their reunion celebration by going above and beyond their typical annual giving. All gifts from each class, regardless of designation, are counted in each class's reunion total.

Generous gifts from alumni show the great value they place on the education they received at SUNY Potsdam, and the College's important role in preparing them for success in life.

Gifts to the College's greatest needs support a variety of vital resources and financial support for research, student travel, equipment, technology, scholarships and so much more. To learn more about giving to the Annual Fund for Potsdam, visit www.potsdam.edu/giving/fund.
