Safe Summer Feeding Program to kick-off July 7 in 13 different parks in Albany

ALBANY, NY (06/25/2014)(readMedia)-- Pastor Charlie Muller and the members of Victory Christian Church are pleased to announce the start of the Summer Feeding Program on Monday July 7, 2014. The Safe Summer Feeding program will serve children at 13 different parks throughout the City of Albany, Monday through Friday. Children will receive a nutritious lunch in a safe environment. "This is our 19th year of feeing in the parks of Albany, and every year it is an absolute joy to see the children receiving something positive." Pastor Charlie "It is our goal to provide meals to kids who otherwise would go without. The are a number of children who rely on school to receive a meal, but when school is out what do they do? This is where we want to fill the void." "We want to make a positive impact on our community and help our kids to flourish in a world that at times is very difficult". " We believe that if we all work together in our neighborhoods, than we can change our community one child at a time". The City Kids Smoothie Truck will also be out and about this summer at various locations throughout the Capital District. Along with the feeding program, Albany County District Attorney and the ENOUGH Program, an anti-violence program will be transporting children to different parks throughout the City for the kids to enjoy. Later in the day, the trolley will be transporting children to Lincoln pool for swimming. "The trolley program is a great way to tell kids that there is more to life, that violence is not the way and that people care about them. Every child should have the opportunity to enjoy a park and swim, this is what this program allows them to do, while spreading a message of anti-violence and hope." Pastor Charlie

4) Oak Street Park: Corner of Oak & Third – Lunch Between 11:30-1:20

5) Ridgefield Park: Ridgefield & Partridge – Lunch 12:00 – 12:20

6) Trinity Day Care: Commerce Ave., Albany – Lunch 11:35-12:50

7) Bleeker Terrace Apartments: 3 Rd St, Albany, Lunch 12:30-12:45

8) Christian Memorial: 381 Sheridan Ave, Albany, Breakfast 9:00-9:15 Lunch 1:00-1:15
