Saint Joseph's College Inducts Laura Merrill of Westbrook to National Honor Society

STANDISH, ME (10/18/2011)(readMedia)-- Laura Merrill of Westbrook, Maine, was recently inducted as a member of the Delta Epsilon Sigma National Honor Society at Saint Joseph's College of Maine. A junior elementary education major, she is an orientation leader, resident advisor and member of Habitat for Humanity club. Merrill has volunteered at an area food pantry and participated in Spring Break Workfest, where students volunteer their services in low-income areas. She is a member of Outreach to Teach, a National Education Association program where education majors paint and fix up low-income schools. She has also volunteered for breast cancer, domestic abuse and sexual assault awareness.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine is a liberal arts college located on Sebago Lake in Standish, Maine. The college, founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1912, serves an undergraduate enrollment of 1,000 students and offers 40 academic programs on campus.
