Saint Joseph's College symposium to focus on the future of health care and how to manage the coming changes

STANDISH, ME (06/14/2012)(readMedia)-- Saint Joseph's College will offer its 5th Annual Health Care Symposium called "Health Care's Future: Realizing the Promise" on July 23-27 at its Sebago Lake campus in southern Maine. The symposium addresses professionals at all levels, including administrators, managers, and clinicians. The keynote speaker is Sr. Carol Keehan, CEO of the Catholic Health Association, which is affiliated with 620 hospitals in the country. She will present on "Health Reform: What It Means Now and Into the Future For Our Country."

Experts from across the country will equip health care leaders with the skills and knowledge to manage future changes. Topics and discussions include health care reform update, ethics of health care reform, preventing hospital readmissions, physician integration in the new health care environment, simplifying change in a complex health care environment and total hospital efficiency. In addition, breakout sessions will focus on a wide range of topics such as traumatic brain injury, transformational leadership and the culture of quality, breast care, quality control in digital imaging, health care for the homeless, reform and the future for long-term care providers, and many others.

Sponsored by the college's Graduate & Professional Studies divi¬sion, the symposium offers 5.5 CEU credits per day. (CEU credits for most sessions are approved by the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards and by the American Society of Radiologic Technologists.)
