Sarah Hannah Newman Recognized As Honor Graduate During Commencement Exercises at Wofford College

SPARTANBURG, SC (05/27/2010)(readMedia)-- Sarah Hannah Newman of Camden, S.C., and Raina Nicole Luthra of Simpsonville, S.C., were recognized as Honor Graduates during Commencement exercises on May 23. Honor Graduates have the highest GPA of the graduating class. Both Newman and Luthra had 3.99 GPAs.
Newman graduated with a degree in history with high honors and a minor in art history, summa cum laude. Parents: Mike and Melanie Newman (Camden, S.C., 29020).
Newman was a cabinet member of Twin Towers student service organization, vice president of Rotaract, and a member of the Blue Key Honor Society. She received a Palmetto Fellows Scholarship, an Anna Todd Wofford Scholarship, a Lewis P. Jones Scholarship, and a William Brabham Scholarship, and was a fellow in the 2009 Community of Scholars research program at Wofford. She recently received The David Duncan Wallace Award, the departmental award for history, at Wofford Honors Convocation.
