Sarah Neitz of Gettysburg Recognized for Academic Achievement at University of Scranton Graduation

SCRANTON, PA (06/14/2012)(readMedia)-- Sarah Marie Neitz, Gettysburg, was among the 65 students honored by The University of Scranton during its undergraduate Class Night ceremony. The Jesuit university awarded outstanding members of the Class of 2012 for academic achievement and service.
Neitz received the Professor Joseph G. Brunner Award for Excellence in Foreign Languages, Excellence in International Studies Award and the Excellence in Philosophy Award. She earned a bachelor of science, summa cum laude, with a triple major in international studies, Hispanic studies and philosophy and graduated from the University's Special Jesuit Liberal Art Honors Program.
Neitz was one of just 60 students in the nation to earn a Truman Scholarship in 2011.
A member of the Phi Sigma Nu and Alpha Sigma Nu honor societies, Neitz was named to "Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges." She was also a member of the University Players.
Neitz will work for the New Mexico Immigrant Law Center as an immigrant advocate for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Albuquerque, N.M. She will also be the volunteer coordinator for the Bread and Blessing Program for Immaculate Conception Parish.
She graduated from Delone Catholic High School, McSherrystown.
