Sarah Tomich is named the CCIW Women's Soccer Soccer Defensive Player of the Week

Thunder junior Sarah Tomich has been named this week's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Tomich, a five-time recepient of the award, helped lead Wheaton to victories against Puget Sound and RIT last weekend at the Bob Baptista Inivtational.

Tomich, the reigning CCIW Defensive Player of the Year, won the Defensive Player of the Week award three times last season. In the season-opening 3-0 victory against Puget Sound last Friday, Tomich keyed a Wheaton defense that held the Loggers to just three shot attempts in the entire match. On Saturday Wheaton again stifled its opponent as Tomich was key in holding RIT to just six shot attempts in a 3-1 victory against the Tigers.
