Savino Named Republican Regional Vice Chair of District One
ALBANY, NY (05/25/2007)(readMedia)-- Joseph J. Savino, who has served as the Chairman of the Bronx GOP since 2004, has been elected the Regional Vice Chairman of the New York State Republican Party serving the entire New York City Region. Savino received unanimous support from the leaders of the City’s four other Boroughs.
“This is quite an honor,” said Savino, “and while a great deal of work is ahead for all of us, I look forward to working with the other City Chairs and the State Party to strengthen and rebuild the Republican Party.”
“Joseph Savino brings tremendous experience and dedication to this post and will make an excellent fit as Regional Vice Chairman,” said New York Republican State Committee Chairman Joseph N. Mondello. “I look forward to working with him to continue revitalizing the Republican Party in New York City and throughout the State.”
Savino has laid out an aggressive plan to rebuild the Bronx GOP including the investment of resources into the club system, an enrollment drive targeting all areas of the Bronx with low voter registration percentages, as well as active recruitment of local community leaders interested in running for political office.
“All of the boroughs now have active and dedicated Chairman committed to rebuilding the Republican Party from the ground up,” concluded Savino, “and I am certain that in the near future you will be hearing a lot more from us.”
