Scarborough resident Emma Judkins wins outstanding student achievement awards at Connecticut College

NEW LONDON, CT (05/16/2011)(readMedia)-- Emma Judkins, a senior at Connecticut College, was awarded the following awards:

• Esther C. Cary Prize, awarded to exceptionally gifted students of French in the senior class from the estate of Esther Celia Talbot Cary, the late Professor Emeritus of French

• Jose Limon Award, established in 1971 by friends and admirers of Jose Limon awarded to a senior or junior dance major with outstanding accomplishments and dedication to the field of dance

Judkins was presented with the awards at the annual Honors and Awards ceremony at Connecticut College on April 27.

Judkins, a resident of Scarborough and a 2007 graduate of Scarborough High School, is the daughter of Mary Griffin of Scarborough and Randy Judkins of Portland.

At the ceremony, Timo V. Ovaska, Hans and Ella McCollum '21 Vahlteich Professor of Chemistry, gave the keynote address. Dean of the College Community Armando Bengochea and Dean of the Faculty Roger Brooks also congratulated the students.
