Schuth was named director of athletics at GCC in May of 2013 and was recently elected the NJCAA Region III Women's Assistant Regional Director. She has chaired the sports of softball and Division II volleyball while also serving on the Division II baseball and women's basketball committees for the region.

"On behalf of the Board of Trustees, as well as our students, faculty, staff, administration and hundreds of athletic alumni, I extend congratulations to Athletic Director Schuth," GCC President James Sunser said. "Being selected as the Region III AD of the Year is a great honor, and one we believe Kristen has earned through her years of service to the College and to our many student-athletes."

Genesee programs produced four conference championships, three regional titles, five All-Americans and six NJCAA National Tournament appearances in 2014-2015. The women's lacrosse team was also named the NJCAA Academic Team of the Year.

Schuth began her first stint at Genesee in 2003 as an adjunct faculty member in the Physical Education Department. She took over as head coach of the softball program from 2004-2010 before joining the Finger Lakes Community College Athletics Department as assistant athletic director.

"Since her return to SUNY GCC, Kristen has led the athletics department with a commitment to putting student-athletes and their success first," Sunser said. "She has earned the respect and trust of everyone at the College and is a shining example of our college moniker of 'Beyond Expectations'!"

With her undergraduate degree from The College at Brockport, Schuth went on to earn her master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania. She currently resides in Spencerport with her husband and two children.
