CANTON, NY (04/21/2014)(readMedia)-- Students graduating from SUNY Canton's Graphic and Multimedia Design (GMMD) program will be showing their work at the Senior Multimedia Exhibition. The opening for the show will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, in Nevaldine Technology Center North, Room 102.

Video and multimedia projects will be shown at the opening. Visual works will be on display in Nevaldine and in the Southworth Library Learning Commons through May 9.

"I have seen the students grow as artists and designers through the design development and production of their senior exhibition," said Kathleen Mahoney an Instructor in the GMMD program. "Their talent and dedication is inspirational."

Lydia C. Dale of Norwood, 2014 SUNY Chancellor's Award Recipient, will be showing her movie to an audience for the first time at the exhibition. She worked with many of her peers to create a 30-minute digital video for her senior project.

"I have always had a vision to create a film based on one of the stories I have written," Dale said. "The project has helped me to realize that it is something I want to pursue and I hope to find a career involving film and media production after graduation."

Other displaying seniors include:

  • Casey L. Bastian of Seneca Falls.
  • Gary M. Dunkelberg of Potsdam.
  • Jontai Q. McClain of the Bronx.
  • Francesca M. Popple of Canastota.
  • Colby W. Prinsen of Keeseville.
  • Laurie L. Thompson of Rooseveltown.
  • Hailey E. Swinyer of Canton.
