Code Changes to the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code on the Agenda

ALBANY, NY (09/01/2011)(readMedia)-- Members of the 17-body State Fire Prevention and Building Code Council (Code Council) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. The Code Council will consider proposals to amend the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and the State Energy Conservation Construction Code and review a draft schedule for the next edition of the Uniform Code.

The Code Council also will consider code changes related to NFPA 70 (National Electric Code) 2011 and a Summer Camp Cabin Exemption that involves sprinkler and square foot requirements for occupants. The tentative agenda can be viewed on the Department's website at http://www.dos.ny.gov/agendas/sfbcc9811.html. The meeting is open to the public.
