Shreveport natives honored at Centenary's Alpha Chi induction

SHREVEPORT, LA (02/24/2014)(readMedia)-- Eight upper class students, including Shreveport natives Ashley McHugh, Luke White, Katherine Pitts, and Alexandra Ross, were inducted into Centenary College of Louisiana's Alpha Chi Honor Society, an organization that promotes academic excellence and exemplary character among college students throughout all disciplines, on Wednesday, February 19:

"Centenary's chapter of Alpha Chi, chartered in 1925, has a long history of recognizing academic excellence," said Jessica Hawkins, Assistant Professor of Communication and co-sponsor of the College's chapter. "We are proud to add this year's inductees to this group of accomplished individuals."

In order to qualify for membership, students must be in the top ten percent of their class and must be nominated for induction.

Established in 1922, Alpha Chi National College Honor Society has over 400 chapters at institutions across the nation.
