Sloatsburg Travel Plaza Rehabilitation Project to Necessitate Temporary Closure of Truck Ramp

All Services at Travel Plaza to Remain Operational

ALBANY, NY (04/30/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that the current phase of the Sloatsburg Travel Plaza Rehabilitation project will require the rear side of the travel plaza to be closed for approximately three weeks, beginning Monday, May 3, to allow for full-depth reconstruction of the existing truck ramp.

The truck ramp, located behind the travel plaza, will be closed to all traffic for a period of no more than three weeks beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, May 3. Trucks will be diverted to the road in front of the building in order to access the travel plaza. Truck parking will still be available, but at a slightly reduced capacity.

During this construction period the food court, fuel station and parking lots will remain operational at all times.

Variable Message Signs (VMS) will be activated in order to advise the public of the truck ramp closure.

The Authority is committed to providing high levels of safety and service to its users.

The Authority appreciates patrons' patience while this essential project moves forward.
