Softball Sweeps CSAC Weekly Awards

The Colonial State Athletic Conference released its weekly awards with two Cedar Crest softball players grabbing the two top awards. Junior catcher Molly Schnaubelt (San Diego, CA/University City) earned the Hitter of the Week honor while sophomore pitcher Laura Rau (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) garnered the Pitcher of the Week award.

After posting a 7-2 spring break record, the best record in the conference for the week, as well as in recent school history for a spring training week. Schnaubelt had a great week at the plate, in her first game she went 3-for-4 with three doubles. Later in the week she was perfect, going 4-for-4 against Lehman and 2-for-2 against Chatham, hitting doubles in both games. She had a .724 slugging percentage and .531 on base percentage after nine games.

Rau went 3-0 on the week with two shutouts. In her first shutout against Penn State Harrisburg she had one hit and three strikeouts while holding Regis to three hits and having two more strikeouts. In her only game of the week that allowed runs she struck out five batters.
