• The Illinois State Military Museum
WHAT:
• Special exhibits for Armed Forces Day
• The Living History Detachment will display and discuss uniforms, equipment, and weapons used by U.S. servicemembers from the Mexican Border Campaign of 1916 to Vietnam era.
• Exhibits will also include a Vietnam era M151A1 jeep equipped with a 106mm recoilless rifle, a M113A3 armored personnel carrier similar to those deployed to Vietnam and a M37 weapons carrier from the Korea and Vietnam eras.
WHEN:
• May 19 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
WHERE:
• Located two blocks north of the intersection of MacArthur Boulevard and North Grand Avenue in Springfield
WHY:
• To remember and honor the service of all branches of the United States military from the French and Indian War through the Global War on Terror.
