Spencer Fuqua of Cypress named Midwest Lacrosse Conference Defensive Player of the Week

AURORA, IL (04/15/2014)(readMedia)-- Aurora University senior long stick midfielder Spencer Fuqua (Cypress, Calif./Los Alamitos H.S.) was named the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending April 13, 2014.

Fuqua led AU to a 2-0 week with a 13-5 win over Concordia University Wisconsin and a 35-1 win over Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). In the win over Concordia, Fuqua scored one goal with 10 ground balls and four caused turnovers. He then added two goals with four ground balls and five caused turnovers in the game against MSOE. For the week, Fuqua led the Spartans with 14 ground balls and nine caused turnovers as AU took over sole possession of first place in the MLC standings.

Next action for the Spartan men's lacrosse team, 9-3 overall and 6-0 in the MLC, comes on Wednesday, April 16 when they host Defiance College. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
