SPRINGFIELD, IL (07/10/2014)(readMedia)-- Theodore F. Tracy of Springfield, Illinois, was promoted to the rank of colonel during a promotion ceremony at the Illinois State Military Museum in Springfield, Illinois, July 10.

In 1989, Tracy began his commissioned officer career with the 258th Quartermaster Service and Supply Company in Beardstown, Illinois. He held various platoon leader and executive officer positions prior to transferring to the 634th Forward Support Battalion in 1994 where he spent several years. In 2005 he served as the 232nd Combat Sustainment and Support Battalion commander.

Tracy deployed as the Iraqi securities chief for the Polish-led Multi National Division located in Al Diwaniya, Iraq in April 2007. Additionally, in September 2012 he deployed as the logistics officer for Task Force White Eagle in Ghazni, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

He has a Bachelor of Science in animal science from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Illinois at Springfield.

Tracy recently retired from the State of Illinois Department of Agriculture where he served as the chief audit executive. He will now serve as the director of the Illinois National Guard's Service Member and Family Support Services with Joint Force Headquarters in Springfield, Illinois.
