Springfield-based National Guard unit returns from deployment

SPRINGFIELD, IL (03/30/2016)(readMedia)-- The Springfield-based 139th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment is returning from a nine-month deployment in support of Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay. The Soldiers will return individually Wednesday and Thursday to various locations to include Chicago, Springfield and St. Louis.

• 139th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment (MPAD)

WHAT: • The 139th MPAD deployed in June 2015 in support of Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay and are expected to return home individually to various locations Wednesday and Thursday.

• The unit was responsible for the command information, public information and media relations programs on the naval installation.
