Springfield's Awilda Cardona Honored at Western New England College

SPRINGFIELD, MA (06/03/2010)(readMedia)-- Awilda Cardona of Springfield took home two awards during Western New England College's 8th annual Student Media Festival. Cardona's music video "Cherokee People" won second place in the people's choice judging and third place in the juried competition. Cardona is a junior Communication major at the College.

The Student Media Festival was created to provide students a venue to display their works to fellow students, faculty, staff, and the public so that students can be recognized for their successes in creating quality films and videos over the past year.

Western New England College is a private, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1919. Located on an attractive 215-acre suburban campus in Springfield, Massachusetts, the College serves 3,700 students, including 2,500 full-time undergraduate students. Undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs are offered through the College's Schools of Arts and Sciences, Business, Engineering, and Law.
