Start Your New Year on the Right Foot With the Fight For Air Climb
CLEVELAND OH (01/06/2012)(readMedia)-- Training for the Fight For Air Climb is the perfect first step to take in becoming healthy during the New Year.
The American Lung Association is holding their 2nd Annual Fight For Air Climb in Cleveland, and looking for individuals to help them in their fight for clean air.
On Saturday, March 3, 2012, climbers, walkers, runners, firemen and supporters of the American Lung Association will climb Terminal Tower in downtown Cleveland. Participants will challenge themselves to climb 42 flights of stairs which is 804 steps while raising money to help support the ALA mission of promoting lung health and preventing lung disease in Northeast Ohio
The day's climb festivities begin with registration at 8 a.m.
Among the participants will be firefighters competing in the Firefighters Challenge in full gear, competitive climbers and those climbing at their own pace. All activities take place at the Terminal Tower, 50 Public Square, including an after-party sponsored by the Tower 230 Bar and Grille.
Registration for the Fight for Air Climb is $25. In addition, participants must raise a minimum of $100 in pledges and can quality for a variety of incentive prizes based on the amount of money they raise.
Lung diseases such as asthma and COPD cannot yet be cured, but they can be managed. Making sure people know what's needed to take control of these lung diseases is one of the American Lung Association's top priorities. 35 million Americans are living with lung diseases such as asthma, lung cancer and COPD. Lung cancer is America's #1 cancer killer.
