State Bar Mourns the Passing of U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Joseph M. McLaughlin

ALBANY, NY (08/10/2013)(readMedia)-- New York State Bar Association President David M. Schraver of Rochester (Nixon Peabody) issued the following statement today on the passing of Hon. Joseph M. McLaughlin, senior judge, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

"Whether in the classroom or the courtroom, Judge Joseph McLaughlin's career exemplified the highest legal ideals.

As a professor and later dean at Fordham Law School, he taught and inspired a generation of law students. As a jurist, he distinguished himself with his insightful scholarship, wisdom and wit.

"On behalf of the New York State Bar Association, we are most grateful to Judge McLaughlin for his distinguished public service and offer deepest condolences to his family and friends."

The 76,000-member New York State Bar Association is the largest voluntary state bar association in the nation. It was founded in 1876.
