LEWISBURG, WV (02/28/2009)(readMedia)-- The 2009 State Fair Event Center flea market schedule includes spring, summer and fall outdoor weekly markets, two Giant Flea Markets, and the annual State Fair market. Marlene Pierson-Jolliffe, facility Manager, states, "We are anticipating spring and the move of the twice weekly markets to a new location on the fairgrounds. In the past, weekly markets have been held in the free parking area, however, rain causes problems for those who want to participate as a vendor and those who want to shop. Weekly markets are being moved to the interior of the fairgrounds on the north end and will be held under roof in a 13,000 square foot open air concrete floor arena." This location provides room for outdoor expansion when weather permits.
The annual Giant Spring Flea Market is scheduled for May 8-10, 2009 and will include indoor and outdoor spaces with antiques, collectibles, crafts, new and used merchandise of all kinds. Admission to the three-day event is free. Free parking is available on the main fairgrounds and adjacent to the Rt. 219 south bridge entrance. Camping is also available but advance reservations must be made. Indoor spaces are 10 x 10' and the outdoor areas are 10' x 20'. Spaces are available for $60 for the entire 3 days or $25 for one day.
