STATEN ISLAND, NY (02/08/2012)(readMedia)-- New York Army National Guard Chief Warrant Officer Michelle Roxby, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot and a Staten Island resident, appeared on the Fox News show Happening Now on Monday, Feb. 6.
Roxby, a member of Company B of the 3rd Battalion 142nd Assault Helicopter Battalion, spoke to news anchor Jenna Lee about her quest for a civilian job and the skills that members of the military and the National Guard bring employers.
Roxby's unit, which is based in Ronkonoma, had been preparing for a year-long deployment to the Middle East but that deployment has been canceled. She spoke with Lee about her desire to take her military skills and apply them to a new job.
Roxby, an 11-year veteran of the New York Army National Guard, grew up in Queens, and has deployed to Iraq twice. She served as an enlisted Soldier in the 442nd Military Police Company in Iraq in 2003-2004 and deployed to Iraq in 2008-2009 with her current unit.
