Staunton Gearing Up for Humongous Egg Hunt
Bring Your Own Basket and everything else is "on the house"
STAUNTON, VA (03/26/2010)(readMedia)-- The Staunton Parks and Recreation Department along with Staunton Downtown Development Association will shell out a full day of fun at the Annual Eggstravaganza. The event planned for Saturday, April 3rd will feature the Grand Egg Hunts, egg coloring, face painting, arts and crafts and a very special appearance from an ageless "floppy eared friend" (were trying to keep it a secret). The event is free and is highlighted by the scramble for eggs hidden on the Grand Egg Hunting Grounds at the Gypsy Hill Park Garden Center.
Following the Grand Egg Hunt, children can ride the Bunny Express Trolley w/ the aforementioned "flopped eared friend" to Downtown Staunton where they'll receive a coupon for a Kids Meal at the Byers Street Bistro. Children can hop from there to participating downtown businesses and collect goodies and giveaways while supplies last.
The Grand Egg Hunts are separated according to age. For children aged 4 years and younger, the egg hunt begins at 10:30am. For 5-7 year olds, the egg hunt begins at 11am. At 11:30am the final hunt for 8-10 year olds begins. Bring the whole family to Gypsy Hill Park and enjoy refreshments, the awesome playground and a few secret treats not previously mentioned. Everything is free but you'll need you own basket.
The birthing of Spring as well as the holiday season presents a great opportunity to bring the community together and enjoy an event that generates loads of excitement for young children. We try to make sure all children receive eggs stuffed with candy and have a good time at the eggtivity "stations" while they wait for their age group's hunt. The Bunny Express Trolley is a unique touch just because we can.
