STANDISH, ME (01/30/2012)(readMedia)-- Steve and daughter Erica Bridge of Windham, ME, recently completed a weeklong service trip to Guatemala sponsored by Saint Joseph's College of Maine. In cooperation with Partners in Development of Ipswich, Mass., three faculty members and a 10-member student team worked at a medical clinic in the tiny village of Concepcion. Nursing students helped to staff the medical clinic, while the construction team volunteers helped to build an expansion for the clinic. Team members also cleared land and moved materials at work sites for new classrooms at the local school and a new house in the middle of the village. Saint Joseph's College has sent volunteer teams to Guatemala for seven years.

Steve Bridge is a theology professor at the college.

Saint Joseph's College of Maine is a Catholic liberal arts college located on Sebago Lake in Standish, Maine. The college serves an undergraduate enrollment of 1,000 students and offers 40 academic programs on campus. Saint Joseph's also offers an online program for working adults. www.sjcme.edu
