Streetlight Repairs to Necessitate Temporary Ramp Closures for Yonkers Interchanges 1 & 3 on Thruway (I-87)

The New York State Thruway Authority today announced temporary ramp closures for Yonkers Interchanges 1 (Yonkers, Hall Place) and 3 (Yonkers, Mile Square Road) on I-87 will take place on Friday, January 22, 2010 due to necessary streetlight repairs.

Weather permitting, on Friday, January 22, 2010, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., the entrance and exit ramps to Interchange 1 and the exit ramp to Interchange 3 will be closed. In the event of inclement weather the work will be performed on Friday, January 29, 2010.

Motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour route to the service road, Central Park Avenue, which runs alongside the Thruway System.

Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 530 AM and Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be activated to advise motorists of the closures.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience while this necessary work takes place.
