Students Honor Nurses with 2nd Annual Nurses Walk

DANVILLE , IL (04/13/2013)(readMedia)-- A group of Lakeview College of Nursing Students are encouraging community support and participation in the 2nd Annual Nurses Walk at Lincoln Park in Danville on April 23. The walk will begin at dusk; approximately 7 pm.

Nina Fainter of Homer, IL; Amanda Miller and Debbie Decker, both of Muncie, IL; and Kayla Blackburn and Haley Kevil, both of Catlin, IL are the Lakeview students who are organizing the event. They plan to honor and acknowledge nurses of the past, present and future during the walk. The event will also include a guest speaker and a raffle.

The students are hoping the public will assist with lighting up the the walk by purchasing a luminary. The luminaries will be sold for $5 each and will honor the nurse of the purchaser's choosing.

Proceeds from the event will fund an academic scholarship for one Lakeview College of Nursing student.
