POTSDAM, NY (06/02/2011)(readMedia)-- SUNY Potsdam business administration students got to test their self-promotion skills in a special campus contest that tested how well they market themselves. Students were challenged to create employment brochures about themselves and their talents.
This experience gave the competitors a head start on the kind of self-marketing that they'll need to stay positive and "sell themselves" when searching for jobs or competing for clients. The contest signifies a cross-collaborative effort between several very different departments at the College: Business Administration, Career Planning and Human Resources.
Students enrolled in the Principles of Marketing and Principles of Advertising and Promotion courses were given the opportunity to compete in the 2011 Self-Marketing Employment Brochure Challenge.
The winners were:
- First Place: Erin Higgins
- Second Place: Andrew Holmes
- Third Place: Kyounghae Kim and Kristyn Murphy (tie)
