EVANSVILLE, IN (05/07/2012)(readMedia)-- Kyle A. Coulson, a Sullivan, Indiana, native, has received the University of Evansville's prestigious Guthrie May Outstanding Senior Service Award for the most outstanding senior man.

The award, presented each year at Spring Commencement, recognizes high academic performance, a commitment to service, outstanding leadership, and diverse involvement in campus activities. The winner is chosen by a committee of UE students and faculty.

Coulson, a Sullivan High School alumnus, graduated from UE today with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree.

During his time at UE, Coulson participated in Orientation Leaders, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Leadership Academy, men's club volleyball, the Ceremonies Committee, the Inter-Greek Council, and the Standards and Admissions Committee, among other organizations.

He demonstrated his commitment to community service by volunteering with nonprofits such as Gilda's Club and Children's Miracle Network. During his senior year, as fall philanthropy chair of his fraternity, Coulson launched a new fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network: a kickball tournament that raised more than $1,000 in its first year.

Coulson's UE experience also included several trips abroad, including two Contemporary Asian Business summer courses in China and a semester at Harlaxton College, UE's British campus in Grantham, England. There, he was a residential assistant, served on the social committee, and played basketball and volleyball.

After graduation, Coulson will work in the marketing department of Hoosier Energy, where he previously completed an internship, and pursue a Master of Science in public service administration at UE.
