Super Salsas Win State Fair Honors

DES MOINES, IA (08/19/2021) (readMedia)-- Amy Fuson of Indianola won first place in the My Favorite Homemade Salsa contest, judged Saturday, August 14, at the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

Kyle Barton of West Des Moines claimed second place and Tammy Dial of Urbandale earned third place.

Judges also awarded Honorable mention to Cheryl Pike of Johnston.

Tammy Dial of Urbandale won first place in the Kid' Favorite class of competition.

Entries were judged on taste and appearance.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 134 divisions, 603 classes and nearly 6500 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Urban Air.
