Sweet Taste of Victory in State Fair Maple Cooking Competition

DES MOINES, IA (09/03/2021) (readMedia)-- The sweet flavor of maple was the star ingredient in the Make It With Maple competition, judged Thursday, August 12, at the 2021 Iowa State Fair.

Entrants were challenged to create award winning dishes using different varieties of maple syrups, creams and sugars.

Entries were judged on taste, creativity and appearance.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There are 134 divisions, 603 classes and nearly 6500 entries at this year's Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center sponsored by Urban Air.
